I just started laying out a project like this the other day and figured I'd Google just in case anyone else had built one. Very cool! I think I'll incorporate your idea of using the covered switches, that's a nice touch. I'm also going to attempt to put in a small speaker and Arduino sound board to incorporate sound effects from the Apollo missions, complete with the Apollo 11 count down and "We have lift off" clip.
